Recording Notes:
Miking was 2 B&K condensors thru a Millennia HV-3 mic pre, w/ a tiny amount of EQ and Lexicon reverb added in mixdown. The recording engineer was my buddy Chuck Eller, who is a real golden-ears, and he was very impressed w/ the ease of recording the guitar

Little Brother Blues

Doug Jones performs a classic folk blues song titled Travelin' Man in the style of Doc Watson using a 2003 Vintage Southerner Deluxe. This VS has a huge open sound. In this recording it is capo'd on the 3rd fret and sings with sweet bell like clarity. This guitar is a 16" sloped jumbo with German Maple back and sides and spruce top. The 24.9" scale makes it a joy to play and provides a sweet tone ideal for country blues fingerpicking. It excels at contemporary fingerstyle and chord based strumming styles. The VS comes standard in mahogany/spruce but the Deluxe comes in German Maple. This is the sister of the longer scale VJ model.
